Switching to new Eveready Energy Saving Halogen lamps (ESH) will show a reduction of energy and carbon up to 30%. ESH lamps maintain the same lumen output as the lamps they replace, but because they run at a lower wattage this then as dramatic savings on  energy costs. 

 Based on an electricity cost of 20p per kwh each wattage reduction will result in a saving of 40p per watt over the 2000hr life of the lamp.

Energy Saving Halogen lamps are incandescent shaped in appearance but with a halogen gas inside instead of the old tungsten filament will generate many benefits. It immediately increases the life of the lamp to a minimum 2000 hours against the current 1000hrs. ESH lamps are fully dimmable against the majority of non dimmable CFL low energy lamps and because halogen gas generates more lumens per watt than a tungsten filament, it can offer up to a 30% reduction of energy and carbon. It also more importantly for some consumers, its aesthetic appearance is almost exactly the same as the traditional tungsten lamp.
